Claire was the daughter of the church's decan and made a name for herself by becoming a paladin. She had faced hardships in the process, from the belittling that she dealt with by her own brothers and those training with her, to her losing her arm in a battle for the safety of the village. Yet she never let those stop her and her mission to be the good in the church. However, she met her match when their pastor passed in his old age, where they welcomed in a new pastor who had visited months prior for the annual festival. The entire covenant adored him and how talked about his beliefs and the strength of the church. This however was his plan all along to usurp his own power upon Claire's village.  He bestowed a magical staff and began to proclaim that he was the real and true God of the people, and they were to treat him as such. Claire broken hearted and frightened decided to flee in the night breaking her paladin oath and left the village in haste to not only protect herself but her faith. In the following years after her initial departure, Claire spent a lot of her time at a tavern drinking her sorrows away and began to rethink her own faith and that if God did exist, why did he allow all this pain? She would then meet the dragon, Enki, in her journey and discover not only new things about the world of Eversten but new things about herself. While with Enki, they would explore the realm of Eversten and meet a crew of characters that would teach them new lessons. Finally, after years of running they return to Claire's village, seeing it in disarray and with only dilapidated buildings and people in poor condition. They were finally face-to-face with the tyrannical power, Ruis, the man who had ruined Claire's home and killed all those dear to her. A long battle ensued as they fought a tireless battle for the betterment of the village. As the church collapsed around them, they had finally did it! They had killed the tyrant, however during the battle and the rubble falling Claire had gotten caught under a piece of rubble. She reached out toward the cross that was engulfed in flames and ruin as she took her final breaths, though she was dying she was content in knowing she had done it in the name of her faith and followed her oath to the end.
